Who are you ?

Who are you ?

Yes, a simple enough question. The answer is what many are searching for (still)

I woke up in a Soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said “You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away”

I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwing punches around
And preaching from my chair

I know there’s a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

Coincidentally the reflection in the Stoic’s page a day …

Deep, perhaps too deep for my current mood. Today is a “Just breathe” type of day

It’s been a heavy metal week, definitely a Picasso to Dali 😊 (A Calibration 8…8.5 on the discomfort index, I’m always afraid to score higher…I don’t really want to or need to go there…yet!)

The days have dragged a little with little to make an impression, certainly NOT the current world affairs (Let’s just leave it at that for now), some things are in our control.

Others are not.

It’s at times like this that I just have to find the will, the way to keep trudging , stumbling if need be along.

Things will change, today will pass, tomorrow is a new day.

It’s not really a solution for everyone but for me (stubborn that I am) it helps. Accept what you cannot control. Adapt to what you can.

A cup of coffee

Maybe just one more …a small one !

Weeks like this are only conducive to Netflix binges but even that is a Meh …then the only cure is music! (And coffee…although I am worried (concerned… ?) that I am becoming an addict…again. Perhaps February should be coffee free ….)

Trolling my archives to find sets that I last listened to years ago!

Good stuff indeed.

Not everyone’s cup of tea but today (Saturday) the only music that got me in the mood so to say …a flashback from 1994 ! (And yes…rattling the windows loud…helps block the ringing ears (tinnitus ?) I have been experiencing lately, another gift from the MS Fairy)

The weather is looking set to be dry for the next few hours …perhaps a bit of Jake brushing will be in order!

And… those pesky fieldmice have ripped all the peanut bags so the birds are all staring at me through Jake’s window (the challenge is real!)

Last words from a Seth Godin posting. I’m trying to be a long-term investor in my health 😊, but living too as a day trader!

Patient Capital: How long is the long run?

If you invest in an education, you expect it to pay off in a decade.

Invest in a buy and hold investment, and you probably expect a return within a year.

Day trade bitcoin and you might be measuring your return over the course of an hour.

if you wanted to make a long-term impact on a growing country like India, what would you do?

One choice is to invest in the endless emergency of poverty, and help people who need help right this second. This is important and lifesaving work.

Another choice is to put some money into a fast-growing company that’s about to go public.

And a third option is to invest in an organization that’s bringing off-grid solar to isolated villages.

In the third case, it’s possible that your investment won’t pay off for twenty years. But during those two decades, you’ll notice that a little energy leads to enough productivity to create demand and income that can pay for a little more energy. Home by home, village by village, your small investment begins to compound, because it changes the culture and the tools and the expectations that people have about what’s next.

A day trader would never take this bet. But a day trader rarely makes an impact. Worth reflecting on …with a …water ???

I will have to come back to the question though, another time perhaps.
