A lot to be thankful for

A lot to be thankful for

To breathe is to exist yet living requires much more.

It requires purpose, intensity, determination, perseverance, love, faith, sacrifice and service…

A thought for the morning !

This week marks the anniversary of some horrendous events, on Tuesday 9/11 where so many people lost their lives (to this day) in the aftermath of the twin towers attack. Secondly in my very own “Gemeente” the 75th anniversary of the liberation (Befrijding) of Limburg.

This week has seen quite some challenges but all good. Botox injections done and dusted although the effect seems to be minimal and a “stronger” alternative will be ordered for early December. I am interested to see how this will be accepted by my body ! It feels strange but I seem to have a reaction the first few days after – walking dead has nothing on me !

Additionally to get in and out of the hospital I resorted to the extra strength Aleve (550mg) …works for the day but sleepless nights for a few days after – I seem to react in reverse to what most people experience.

Of course I had one yesterday too, Hence the early morning/late night activity 😊

The intermittent fast/keto approach seems to still be working and I feel a lot healthier for it. Of course eating only every few days is also what always gave me energy in days gone by so I am quite energised by that. I am fortunate to have read and absorbed sooooo much now on the behaviour of the gut, what to feed the enzymes and bacteria and what not. Just need to action the plan !

Saturday has just become an amazing day, had a visit from two extreeeeemly special people (Ton & Paola) which left me a little emotional (Sorry about that), I cannot talk enough about how fortunate I am and how much friendships mean.

I firmly believe we go through life destined to reconnect with special people that help focus us or simply re-energise us for what is to come.

I can only reflect on my old favourite , Kahlil Gibrain , And a youth said, “Speak to us of Friendship.”

Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And he is your board and your fireside.
For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the “nay” in your own mind, nor do you withhold the “ay.” And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;

For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; for that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend. If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill? Seek him always with hours to live.

For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

I hope you all enjoy family and friends this weekend
